At the beginning of the season i said two things: 1) The eagles will win 18+ of it's 22 games. 2) The eagles will win its first 11 games.
How ever... The eagles, after winning 8 straight, lost to collingwood. Yes, this is a bad thing. But positives has come forth:
1) Michael Gardiner, has once again convinced me that he should play FF. 2 goals in the opening quarter is fantastic for a ex-ruckmen.
2) Phillip Matera shows why he was the eagles #1 goal kicker.
3) Cox showing why his the #1 ruck men.
Although the eagles lost be 22 points. It was a exciting game. I mostly enjoyed Gardiners form. In fact, i would be able to bet anyone here. Any sum of money. That gardiner will kick over 10 goals a game this season.

Oh well... happens! Pretty annoyed with the way we played, but we're still top and we'll win again next week. Also 619, had Tarrant not missed a sitter when 15secs left, Pies would have beaten Roos. Why, oh why, did we have to lose to :-*ing Collingwood!

In your perspective it is but for others it isn't. Some people just play the game for the love of the sport and don't care about win or lose. For teams like Carlton and Collingwood who know they arn't gonna make the finals.. They don't care about results they care about their performances and their inhancement of their players.. So that's your Opinion of the game.
There's mine..

But they lost, and results are what matter in football. No they aren't. As a former player, I know that knowing the team played well is more important than the result.

No they aren't. As a former player, I know that knowing the team played well is more important than the result. Yes, that holds true at a jiunior level, but for teams in the AFL, a pretty good performance means nothing if you are defeated. In juniors and amateurs, yes, performance means more, but at the big time, results are what matter. And you might think the Eagles are past their best following their loss, but this is a sign of a class team. West Coast 27.17.179 defeated Port Adelaide 9.8.62 And if that isn't proof enough, look at today's goalkickers. Quinten Lynch 4 Daniel Kerr 3 Ashley Sampi 3 Mark Nicoski 2 Mark Lecras 2 Andrew Embley 2 Michael Braun 2 Adam Hunter 1 Ashley Hansen 1 Brett Jones 1 Drew Banfield 1 Chad Fletcher 1 Michael Gardiner 1 Daniel Chick 1 Mark Seaby 1 Chris Judd 1

A coach would rather have their team play well and lose rather than win and play dirty. And what did this argument start from? Jasper used the nickname premiers for Port, and you then started an argument from it. Don't do it in the future.
