Today I recieved an odd yellow package in the mail... I looked at it, and it had no clues except for a "Derwent Howard Pty Ld." stamp on the back. As I used to have a subscription to their playstation 2 magazine, I thought I was just getting some advertisement. I opened it up, and guess what? I won a game! About a month ago I entered their "Make a game" competition and after skim reading a mag in the newsagent, I realized I didn't win... but it turns out I did!
I won the game "God of War" and it looks awesome, I'll post what I think of the game after I play it.

For the competition you had to make a video game cover and write a description for it under 500 words.
It is a Third Person Action Adventure about a god sorta guy called Kratos. So far it has been awesome. Here are the impressive reviews so far for it:

Why would I win a PC game in a PS2 magazine Yes, but just because you held a subscription to a PS2 magazine doesn't mean Derwent Howard won't try to advertise and promote items they have for other platforms. |

Derwent Howard wont advertise any other games.. WTF are u talking about! Stop dribbling crap.. The PS2 Magazine is run by fans.. not by the owners of PS2. and yes this game is brand new.. That wouldn't hold a competition for an old game.. |

I must be pretty damn good to get reviews like that. Can u pls paste a URL for a review of it? What genre is it and what do you do? Is it an RTS or an RPG or a TBS? What are the graphics like? Congrats on winning btw, I've entered a few but i've never won  . The only thing I've won is a Simpsons DVD - Risky Business. |

Like I already said, it is a 3rd Person Action/Adventure. It is set in Athens for the most part, and has a heavy Greek Mythology storyline. Kratos the main character did something bad in his past (still hasn't been revealed as far as I am in the game) and the Gods like Zeus are giving him a chance if he can defeat the God Of War, Ares... The graphics are awesome, for a review just search in game site... But you never specified that.... you originally said it might have been an advertisement in the mail, and as DH publish more than PS2 magazines, it could be for other platforms, although as it turned out, it wasn't. You then say "to make a PS2 game"... .but originally, you said For the competition you had to make a video game cover and write a description for it under 500 words. which never specifies PS2 games, just video games. Bloody hell, if you'd just clarified it properly rather than leaving everything to assumption, there would be no need for all of this... and if you had just said 'PS2' when I asked the question rather than taking people down, things would also be much easier. |

Derwent and Howard don't publish any PC game magazines... I beg to differ. Derwent and Howard publish PC Games Addict as I would well know . They also publish The Official Xbox Magazine. It was a pretty stupid question on Tajiri's part to ask whether it was a PC game because you are obviously a hardened PS2 supporter and no magazine would hold a comp for a game from another platform. Thats like an Xbox magazine holding a competition for a Gamecube Game  |
