I heard on the news about a week ago that 400,000 Messages have been sent to the Heavy music downloaders in australia saying stop now or you will be fined. When the people where ask about the government banning this they replied" But thats the whole reason Ipods where basically built for to put the music u have downloaded on to the Ipod.
What are your thoughts on this?

I think they downloaders are a bunch of idiots. Ipods were made to have purchased MP3's on them, not illegally aquired ones. Ipods suck anyway... way over rated.

Also, cant Ipods store info on it from games you have made on flash or work or anything like that. Doesn't it work like a flash drive that can play songs? Apparently you can just plug em into any old comp and upload anything off them!
Not just illegal downloads

Who doesnt download music nowadays?
I only download 1-3 songs a month if at all. Sometimes I dont download songs at all. The only reason I download a song is if I cant find the single or if the album sucks.
I use P2P programs and have been for a while. I dont see whats so bad about it, as long as you keep buying stuff from the artists. As for the mp3's and iPod's - there are legal sites for downloading songs/mp3s. Use them.

Oh BTW, try taking the advise from your last two sentences, criminal.

I did download it, but can admit too it being criminal. HBK acts as if it is alright to do it. I know I did it and can admit I did it wrong.

Yeah, but new studies have shown that downloading music (or stealing if you want Lance) actually encourages more people to buy music. They sample it first and if they like it, then they buy the album. Its not illegal yet and cannot be classied as stealing. And why stealing? Why not illegally listening to and distributing?

FP:
HBK:
If it is not illegal yet then why has this message been sent to all these people and why was this thread even created when fines are being threatened because it is stealing and stealing is illegal?
It is illegal at the moment and that is why Napster and alot more music online downloading companies were closed down!
If it is legal then you can't be fined can you!

Yeah but no-one has been arrested yet have they? This is just a warning message to people telling them to stop. Not telling them that they have been fined. It will probably become law soon though.

If it was legal then they dont have a right to warn them! and also it says they will be fined if they dont stop.. therefore it is illegal because they cant fine you if it is legal.. Thats like saying if you dont stop using your computer we will fine you.. Its legal but they are aloud to fine you and warn you... Don't Think So!
