Batista Banner - Please Rate

This is my first effort at making a banner - so please... only constructive criticism - I'm still learning.

Considering it's a first try - please rate it!

The Batista text is good.. though the animal text doesn't really suit its font. Their needs to be some kind of emotion in one of the pics making him seem like an animal.. and also the background needs a little improvement if it is being created on a corel program

Yeah, I realised that after I posted it... it does look a bit out of place.

It was hard to find an animal PSD though.

Could someone with Corel help? Call me an amateur, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to make backgrounds like the one you had on the picture today 619 (you know the one I mean?). I am aware of the pattern (eg. Soccer balls, candy ropes), but how do you make those special backgrounds?

Well using Corel is harder than Fireworx and that is what I was using.. But it is really easy just make pictures transparent and add them to all sorts of things, be creative.. Thats the idea of banner making..

Again don't just use PSD's

How do you think I feel now? I attempted to make a banner - it was my first ever effort... and now I really have a lot of confidence to keep continuing.

Yeah, that's great... I know my banner wouldn't win any awards... but bloody hell, it was my first effort, surely you could have said something a bit more productive than that.

Sometimes the best banners aren't the ones with fancy this, fancy that, every tool on the program used in conjuction. I'm not as good as you... I admit that, but please, you don't have to go and damn right diss my banner.

Also, why should I have to merge my threads, nobody else does?

My comment = Not very productive
Your banner = Not very productive

But banners which only use the text tool aren't too spectacular.

Because most people here have time distance between their makings of banners. You didn't. Check my last post, it had to banners to one thread.

The reason I gave you a bad rate is because that is what it deserved. All you did was put two PSDs on a black background and add text. No depth at all. What is their to rate? I give Dyanamic Graphics 10/10 for their great cutting, and the text makers a 10/10 for their text. What of yours am I supposed to rate, the background?

Great background, I can see that lots of time was put in it. Nice cutting, you should do some cuts for Graphic sites. The text is cool, but it could have been placed better.

If you don't put time in the banner, don't expect people to put time into the rates. Don't know how to make backgrounds? Then mess around, and try to make a decent background.

Yeh i rekon its hell puss aswell - You said it was your first "effort" of making a banner, but i dont think that it was much of an effort, i mean plain black background, some font off of word document and some allready cut out people
